Can Wolfson support McCain/Palin any more without coming out and saying it?! I'm loving this! And I believe Hillary is done working for Obama. She wants the nod in four. Why help him? She had to do the convention speech. She doesn't have to do anything else.

MSNBC is absolutely choking on this news. Andrea Mitchell sounds like she's just lost her best friend. And they are spinning, spinning, spinning to the negative. One of their bullet points, of course is "Under Investigation." They are SO obvious.

Okay, back to Fox for the big announcement.

I admit I did not think McCain would go with Palin. I'm thankful that he did.

She sounded great in her speech. At the beginning she seemed a little nervous...but as she spoke further she seemed to be hitting her stride. So now she has her first and probably one the most improtant speeches out of the way.

I believe first impressions are everything. I think she proved herself and made people want to know her more. She made people feel comfortable with her. Her first speech, she did what she needed to do...and more.

I find it interesting that Obama the candidate for change chooses a VP like Biden, how is that change? Apparently he is all talk, but can't walk the walk. And early on the Obama campaign continues their disrespect of women.. from Hilary to Sarah by belittling her experience.

McCain may not be a great and stirring orator like Obama, but he is a man of substance & bravery. The Maverick speaks softly, and DELIVERS CHANGE, with his pick of Sarah Palin.

Maybe they should write another one about how she's turning AMERICA'S political establishment on its ear. Also, on a separate note, if you want to say thanks to McCain, you may think about contributing to the campaign if you can do it, and putting Sarah's name in as the friend who referred you!

Now the onslaught by the drive-by media begins..... They are all so, bottom line, JEALOUS!!!!!!!

Re: Now the onslaught by the drive-by media begins

Yep! The liberal media has already begun attacking her. They are so lame. Her opponents developed that "scandal" in Alaska to try to discredit her and prevent her from becoming VP. How pathetic!

They're already questioning her experience. She's a GOVERNOR, for crying out loud! She has been working to root out corruption. We don't need someone from the establishment, like Biden We need Palin!!!!!

By the way, I sent an email to all the McCain offices, thanking McCain and the campaign for choosing Palin. I'd suggest we all do the same; let them know how excited and appreciative we are!!!!!

Jonathan said...

I was going to vote for Barr, but now I may come back to Repuublicans. Never heard of the lady til now. But she is great. There will be a real citizen versus politician slant to this campaign now. And a real anti corruption slant. If anything it excites me about aspects of McCain. Helps take the bad taste out of last 8 years of being taken for granted by bush/Cheney/Rove.

Kristin said...

I'm a long-time Republican woman who is SO proud of her party right now! Palin is a brilliant choice...she has ALL the right things in her background: mother, child in the military, gun handy, stands up for what's right rather than what is popular or down the party line, chose life for a child with Down's...it goes ON and ON.

Definitely the kind of woman I want in my party. Definitely the kind of VP I can get behind. What a breath of fresh air.

As for those who talk about inexperience, you have no legs to stand on. Not only is Obama very inexperienced, so was Bill Clinton. Ah, what a short memory the Dems have.

She brings the right kinds of strengths to the ticket. McCain, I wasn't all that hip on you, but you just completely sold me now. This proves to me that you are what you say you are.

Go McCain/Palin!

As Rush has said this morning "Babies, Guns, and Jesus!"
Go McCain / Palin!

Mike said...

This is great!
I've never heard of her before, but I'm so excited there's someone who I can support and trust, she's the antithesis of Biden. someone who has real values, and more importantly...stands by them.

Hey everyone, go over to townhall.com and you'll see Adam enjoying his 15 minutes of fame.

I feel the need to first rush to the nearest toilet, and then to find a Friday-nigh stand-up club where I can laugh my butt off while all the political satirists rip this duo to shreds! I've been reading the blog comments all over the internet -- even the people in Alaska can't stand her. Mel Baker said, "I predict a landslide for McCain/Palin!!!" Me, too -- right off the side of a very steep cliff and directly to the bottom of the ocean! More Republicans running (or, rather, ruining) this country? God help us all!!!

Susan said...

Uhhh...when I said "O Faithful Ones", I was NOT referring to the Empty Suit guy...I promise never to use the letter O in a sentence again, lest I am mistaken for a D Troll...!!!!

And congrats again, all of you with the foresight and vision and chutzpah to call it right from waay back when.

Now THIS gives ME HOPE!!

(Never thought I'd be a McCain fan, but actually, I'll be a PALIN Fan from now on!!!)

George said...

Is this the best candidate we can offer our citizens? A moose hunter with a degree in journalism who was mayor of a town of 5,000 and governor of a state of 700,000?

Mikelo22 said...

Ugottabekidding,

Yes, it is perfectly obvious that everyone in Alaska hates her...with her 80-90% approval rating and all.

Tell me, what is the Democratic-controlled Congress' approval rating?

18%. That's right, 18%.

Go spew your liberal propaganda elsewhere.

George said...

I am so disappointed. We go from an republican administration bereft of an intellectual to a slate of similarly challenged candidates.

Is a moose hunter with a degree in journalism who was mayor of a town of 5,000 and governor of a state of 700,000 the best we can do?

Joe said...

George, keep ripping on small town folks like you are doing. You and the rest of the liberal elite will play right into the hands of the McCain/Palin ticket.

Byron Harvey said...

Thank you for introducing me, a few months ago, to a woman of whom I'd never heard, Sarah Palin. Initially skeptical, I came out for her in early June, and I'm ecstatic right now. Go, Sarah, go!

Mountain Mama said...

Oh, George.....c'mon, write elsewhere. We're busy celebrating, and you're busy being a jerk.

sundowniest said...

Bravo! Ask Mrs. Palin to keep wearing her glasses! She's NORMAL.

From a conservative (former Upstate New Yorker) is who_n_ tired of lib-dems..

Sean Peck said...

Obama campaign will find her a difficult target and will look like a bully as they already do after their first weak attack. She will crush Biden in the debates they wont see her coming. everyone is fired up, no Obama speach coverage or review. Excellent strategy. She just has to go into attack mode now.

Health Freak said...

Democrats are attacking her lack of experience. How stupid can they be. They realize that Palin has more experience than Obama. don't they? I heard a nice tid bit of info. Someone said that as a governor they made more decisions in 1 month than they did as a senator in two years. While Plain was a mayor, Obama was a community organizer...PLEASE..The Dems are desperate.

TrueRedHead said...

How cool is this? Slate gives Adam full credit for Sarah's nomination.

Where on townhall . com is Adam's 15 minutes of fame? I couldn't find it.

Also, they Palin book I posted about earlier is now at #755 in sales.

PS..everyone please make their own blogs and spread the word. Get involved at the grassroots. Dems are not the only ones that can use technology!

He couldn't have made a better choice. I'm looking to see this campaign IMPLODE! Thank God!

Andrea said...

Thank you Adam!

Thank you John McCain for making the BEST choice in running mate!

How awesome that McCain staff have been reading this blog all along!!

jri111 said...

Wow! what a great day!

I love how the left is making the "experience" argument, do they really want to there?! Obama has less experience then Plain, AND Obama is the top of the ticket!

I gotta tell you though, it was a long night of waiting. Coffee is going to be my best friend today!

DPCPastor said...

Everyone go to all the news comment pages and do not let them get away with the no expereince crap. Keep selling Palin just like we have been. She has as much expereince in elected office as Oboma and her's is as an executive. We have won a major battle but the war continues till November!

Craig said...

I tried to contribute on johnmccain.com but the server has crashed.

TrueRedHead said...

It was just mentioned (By Liz Trotta) on FOX, how McCain is going to be a "target" for the MSM now. They are OT happy about being bamboozled by this masterful move.

Craig said...

Little noticed but included in the McCain press release is that Gov. Palin is already a Commander In Chief: As governor she is the head of the Alaska National Guard. The ANG is on the front lines 50 miles from an angry Bear that just invaded the small country of Georgia. Combined, in their entire careers, Obama and Biden have probably commanded a total of 100 office workers. I'd say that makes her a lot more qualified on day one than either Obama or Biden.

God is prolife said...

God, Babies, Family Values & Class!! Go McCain/Palin!!

Jenny said...

Who do you think is going to take care of baby Trig, who has special needs, now that his mother will be so busy????

Mountain Mama said...

Oh, for heaven's sake!
Palin has been taking Trig to the office with her now all the time!

Joe said...

I would bet that Palin will be making more than one serious swing through Pennsylvania, and will be highly popular, likely winning the state for McCain.

When doing so, I seriously hope she will consider taking a bit of time to make some campaign stops in Upstate New York, where there are Alaskan connections (William Seward's house in Auburn), and the Seneca Falls Women's Rights hall of fame.

Hillary Clinton is highly popular upstate, and yet this area is really at its core conservative. I am confident that she could make a serious dent in Obama's lead in this state, by attracting Hillary voters. If nothing else this would create the need for Obama to spend valuable resources here.

TrueRedHead said...

Oh Jenny, would you have said that if a MALE candidate had a special needs child? NOT a good idea to go there!

Charles said...

Sarah Palin is a great leader. She has cleaned house in the last 2 years as our governor and has given us hope for our furture. I think she will make a great VP. I was hanging on who to vote for until this decision was made. Go McCain and Palin!!!!!!!!!

Scholar said...

"For the first time in years, I am proud of my party."

Erin said...

Okay, just had a chat with a friend who is so liberal, she would vote Green if she thought they would win. She LOVES the pick, and while she's not going to change her vote from BO, she said it's the first time in years that she won't be gutted if Republicans take it.

GREAT NEWS!!! Palin is reaching across so many barriers. She COMPLETELY stole BO's thunder from his speech, and now she's making one of the most liberal people I know give the party a second look (Jenn's exact words).

I'm still in shock over the pick, and I still can't stop praising Adam's vision and courage to keep this going. I agree; without him and faithful bloggers like him, this wouldn't have happened. The leak started here with Drew because of what has been accomplished by this site.

My first post, but I've enjoyed reading Adam's blog for the last couple of months. Congratulations to Adam and the rest of the folks here.

This is an excellent choice and for the first time in this campaign, I'm extremely excited about McCain and especially Palin. In fact, I now intend to donate.

Wow from Canada - you guys know how to back a winner! She'll make a great VP.

Andrea said...

What was great about seeing McCain introduce Palin this morning was that he really BELIEVES what he is saying about her being a reformer, stands up to special interests and corruption, etc. He did not just pick her for Hillary voters. She brings so much more to the table than just being a woman.

Gov. Palin:

As a Cook County Commissioner and Republican Committeeman in Orland Township, Illinois, and a woman with a similar background to your own, I want to congratulate you on being named the Vice Presidential running mate for John McCain.

I had the opportunity to meet Sen. McCain in Chicago as various function through his Illinois Coordinator and Chairman of the Illinois Delegation to the Nominating Convention, Jim Durkin.

Sen. McCain is an impressive and highly qualified candidate for President of the United States and now we have an impressive and highly qualified candidate for Vice President of the United States.

As a Republican Committeeman and the only Republican elected official in Cook County, Illinois, I will do everything possible to support and work for the team of McCain/Palin and make sure you are our next Vice President of the United States.

Today is a proud day for Republicans, for woman and for the United States of America and I am exceedingly proud of our ticket.

Congratulations and Good luck.

Aw, c'mon ... all this blather about "more experience" - "less experience." What it boils down to is that it takes more than one person or "dynamic duo" to run the country, and everyone knows that the figureheads are just that. So, do you want more of the ridiculous right-wingers who don't have a clue in their heads about how horrible everything has become over the last 8 years, who've dragged this country's reputation through the mud and then blind-eyed everything that happened, who make those of us who have brains question where the sanity has gone? WAKE UP, YOU IDIOTS! Go ahead, try to convince me that the Bush administration has done good things and that this country is better off now! Take a good, hard look at where we were, where we are, and where you want us to go. I'm not jumping on THIS turnip truck! You're all loco!!!!

Andrea said...

I don't know if you have heard, but Bush is not running for President this year. John McCain is running. A different guy.

Messiah Truth said...

McCain has done a great service to America by choosing Sarah Palin. Sarah is America's Margaret Thatcher. Even Maggie Thatcher did not have experience to lead Great Britain. A woman who is a great mother, sporty, who loves Jesus, who loves America etc.,. The Hussein campaign is terrified by this - I am sure.

Rick said...

You sure did. I think she will put us over the top.

I'm sorry. I've read your posts and comments over the past week and a half and I'm a little confused. I have a serious question for all of you out there in la-la land. Think about it before you respond: Do you guys REALLY believe that this person has what it takes to run this country in the event something happens to a President McCain? I mean, seriously, one of the strongest points on her resume is that she was runner-up Miss Alaska. This would of course mean that if the actual Miss Alaska was unable to complete her term as Miss Alaska, Sarah would have taken over. Thank God nothing happened to the crowned Queen, but it leaves us wondering whether Ms Palin could actually have stepped in and performed her duties.

I actually have a second question, kind of a follow-up: What in the world are you smoking? I want some.

Obama supporters - you only look even more sexist when you belittle Palin's accomplishments. P.S. She is governer of Alaska, right now. I love how all the Obama talking points refer to her as a former mayor, former beauty queen, etc. SHE HAS A PRETTY BIG CURRENT JOB.

The question stands: CAN SHE RUN THIS COUNTRY? I don't care if she is the governor of a state (for less than 2 years),the president of a major corporation, an attorney, a sanitation engineer or a stay-home parent, DOES SHE HAVE THE QUALIFICATIONS TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY? And there is nothing "sexist" in that question. It is a legitimate concern that those of us NOT in la-la land have.
