Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, we definitely have a lot to be thankful for this year! We've seen Sarah go national, and hopefully helped launch her as a national figure. I've been a little busy lately (home in Colorado for turkey day), so I didn't get a chance to comment on that ridiculous turkey video that hit YouTube last week...to be honest I thought it was just one of those uncontrolable silly things that occasionally happen to public figures, and we can all get a laugh out of if. However, I figured that Thanksgiving was an appropriate time to show of the OTHER side of "Turkeygate". This is the footage of Sarah actually pardoning the turkey and wishing Alaskans a happy Thanksgiving (I personally found it heartwarming and more fun to watch than the now-infamous turkey footage). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Heartwarming indeed, I can imagine their family, like mine, will spend lots of time hugging and laughing! Happy Thanksgiving Adam and "Mom" and to all the Faithfuls keeping naysayers in check.
Reading this for the past 11 or so months has become a daily enjoyment, and I thank you all.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving here are 10 political trends that we should be thankful for as we now look to 2009 and beyond: 1) that John McCain (JM) chose Sarah Palin (SP) for his running mate; without his bold choice SP would be now an obscure governor from Alaska better known by the polar bears than the people of the lower 48, by forgoing 'the boring white guy' JM broke a GOP gender barrier but even more important bestowed to the conservative movement the means to reinvent itself and thrive in the future 2)in retrospect for the future of the conservative movement that JM lost or SP would have been forever saddled with JM's administration policies and talking points 3)that JM and SP garnered over 59.4m votes, only 2.6m votes short of Bush in 2004 in one of the most anti-Republican election cycles in modern history-something for SP to build on 4)that 'white guilt' will be somewhat diluted in the future unlike that of 2008 5)that the MSM continues to attack and ridicule SP and blaming SP for JM's loss, making the conservative movement more determined than ever to support SP's bid for the Presidency in 2012 if she opts to run 6)that it appears that the Democrats will not have a 'filibuster-proof' majority in the Senate; 7) that SP will have 2-4 years to improve her awareness of national issues, develop her own policy positions, and lay in place a primary infrastructure (grassroots availability, Congressional support and fundraising)that will make her competitive with the huge bonus of not having the problem of Republicans not knowing who she is 8)that the economy will probably worsen under Obama increasing the discontent of the public and expose Obama's inexperience 9)that increased foreign tensions abroad will cause the American electorate to turn to the GOP because of national security concerns; 10) that Sarah only 3 weeks after the election has this web site and other web sites devoted to her fulfilling her Presidential amibitions in 2012 (if she declares) NB: thank you Adam; happy Thanksgiving!

Something else to be thankful for?

These left-wing blogs like the HuffNPuff and DailyKooks, it's pure comic gold.

The way they hype Barry up is a little like NBC pushing Bears/Vikes as this big SNF showdown (all it is is to see which of three mediocre teams will win a mediocre division and win the right to get stomped by the Cowboys, Redskins, or Panthers in the first round). At the same time they can't help but dismiss Sarah as a floozy, claiming she can't hold a real job (oh the irony!) and that there's this big follow-up to these ALREADY-DECLARED-TOOTHLESS legislative "findings" (the only one that counted ruled against the trolls) waiting for her when she gets back from Philly. Plus, all the supposed enemies she made at the RGA will "be looking for her". That and Barry will be the one in charge at this little meeting (of course, he's the pres-elect, I should HOPE so).

I swear, I nominate HuffPuff for Kings of Comedy 08. I can't wait to see them messiah-ize Barry into overkill, until they get tired of him in two years and throw their usual temper tantrum.

This reminds me of their "compassion" for the victims of the 911 terrorist attacks. They offered them free abortions.

"Your husband was killed or injured in the 911 attacks, or he or you fear you might lose your job because of it? Not to worry. Come on down to our clinic and we'll kill your child for you. FOR FREE!"

Yep, knowitall, I have the book "Sarah Takes On Big Oil." It's an excellent newsworthy book all about Sarah's administrative victories re: oil and gas in her first 2 years as Governor. It's written by the publisher and editor in chief of "Petroleum News." And if you buy the book, they give you a 2-year online email sub to their pub. I'm keeping up on Sarah's energy activities via the email news. I recommend for all Sarah fans ...

It just continues, go read the "progressive" Alaska Report, HI-larity.

There's an "article" there from a retired U of Alaska professor (prob ex-ACLU too) where he does everything short of call for an investigation of "Turkeygate" while calling for college athletes to be paid (of course he does this while bemoaning the field at the Great Alaska Shootout this year, significantly less loaded than last year. Good ol' libs, they ALWAYS have their priorities straight:))
