One Year Reunion

This site has been out of commission for a while - but I think there is good reason to recommission it for a special one-night-only event.

For anyone who was part of the Palin movement at the time, you should remember that exactly one year ago we achieved our goal - Sarah Palin was nominated by John McCain as the Republican candidate for Vice President in 2008. Of course, we got a half-million hits that day and received a lot of publicity - but the one thing most of us will probably remember is the marathon comment thread (about 900 comments total) that ran through the night as all of the commenters talked with a curious poster named "Drew" - who said he was helping set up the Dayton event and that we would be happy. We never actually found out who he was - but he was right, we were happy. A number of you also found ways to look up planes currently in the air - and you were the first to find a charter plane from Anchorage to Dayton, which ultimately was picked up by the media as the first sign that Gov. Palin would be nominated.

Some of you might even remember that I was not a part of that thread - I regret to say that I stupidly fell for McCain's disinformation campaign and went to bed, fully expecting to spend the next morning watching the genesis of the McCain-Pawlenty or McCain-Romney ticket. Thank goodness I was wrong.

So, while I think we in the Palin Movement still have much to do, I think we can take a little time for nostalgia. Hence, the old site is being temporarily rebooted to accommodate a reunion. I actually have an engagement tonight - so I again will miss the opening posts - but I should be around later in the evening for those interested in re-enacting the vigil.

Welcome back everybody.

Thank you for your foresight and your wisdom.
You have helped to change Mrs. Palin's life, helped to change the course of political debate in America and changed many of our own lives for the better.

Adam,

You sir are a national treasure. Thanks so much for the good and inspired work you have done.

I'm glad I was not the only one who went to bed that night thinking McCain would choose somebody else. In fact I think my exact quote to myself when I switched off the television was "fine McCain choose boring Pawlenty!"

The next morning I woke up and was immediately overjoyed to see Sarah Palin pictured as the expected nominee. I was walking on clouds the rest of the day.

That was an incredibly memorable day.

I went through the thread with the 900 posts and found a few of mine-I had forgotten what I wrote.

Drew was definitely on the money very very early. I wish Drew would come forward and let us know whom they were.

For those who wonder about how a 2012 Palin-Obama match-up would go-I submit we already have two previews.

The first skirmish occurred just after Gov. Palin was nominated. The Democrat party spent two weeks attacking Palin and saw Obama's numbers go into the tank. Obama himself finally turned the tide when he told his advisers battling Palin is not a winning proposition even if you win the battle. Obama refocused on McCain, the economy tanked, and McCain never recovered.

The second skirmish took place just recently over health care. According to Axlerod the White House never talks about Gov. Palin, but within 24 hours of the "death panel" Facebook post, out came Obama to rebut the claim. The Democrat party attack machine went into full throttle against Gov. Palin as crazy while simultaneously removing "death panel" language that supposedly did not exists from the bill. The only thing that would up in the tank were Obamacare and Obama's approval ratings.

Obama clearly is not good at doing battle with Gov. Palin. (and per Rush Limbaugh most Democrat party ops know this)

I can't wait for this battle to begin. One point of personal interests; my father was born just a few months before the women's suffrage amendment was ratified in 1920. Pushing age 90, he remains in very good health. In just three years he looks forward to voting Obama out of office hopefully by supporting Gov. Palin in Nov 2012.

How many people can say that in the span of their lifetime a person can vote to elect a woman POTUS when that same woman would not even had been eligible to vote in a presidential election when that person were born?

Adam all I can say is THANK YOU. I was here all night last year and as the moment got closer and the truth became more apparent I was happier than I have ever been from a political perspective. Sarah's elevation to VP candidate was the fire that lit the fuse to a long overdue re-alignment of thinking in this country. It's happening now and it's building steam. The old "progressive" (smells communist to me) agenda has it's day in the sun right now and it's wilting faster than anyone would have expected, except maybe for Sarah and her followers. We have an absolute responsibility to future generations of Americans to stop this madness once and for all, to create a prosperous and inclusive society that the loonies cannot possibly assail. We must create an environment of economic growth and human rights support that the entire world will happily join in. That is what our Founding Fathers wanted and if not for Wilson and the Roosevelts we would already have been there. It is time to finally put progressivism, socialism, and communism into the dustbin of history where they belong. We must say as a people "Never Again". Sarah speaks for all of us who actually want to leave something of a country for our children. God Bless Sarah Palin and God Bless America.

It's good to be home. My, how things have changed...We knew something a long time ago that some only knew about recently and others still have to weed through other "misinformation" campaigns to see. I was honestly shocked when McCain picker her...After all, nothing I want to happen, actually happens in the world of politics. At least not up until that day.

Question: How many signatures did you turn in Adam, on the draft petition?

OG Palinistas!

Outstanding Adam! At 62 I can still shed tears of joy (yeah... real tears) at the thought of how we are blessed with one great leader that can help save us. Of course I mean Sarah Palin. These very special people have occurred rarely in history. But when they come, it is something to which we can show rightful awe!

May she and her family be safe and protected and become the POTUS. More tears of joy to come from these old warrior's eyes.

As always Adam and the other founders of this blog, words cannot express my thankfulness for your efforts!!!

Who would have thought that your efforts would have brought about this much "Truth and Conviction and Living life according to her Faith against impossible odds?

Who would have thought that your efforts on a blog, would someday cause a mighty private citizen to "Blog" on her Facebook page and cause the Senate to cave on Death Panels?

We all had faith that night. Faith is hope in things not yet seen. No matter what happens our faith should be in God. And it was wonderful to interced that night for a hope/cause that we could not yet see.

Faith is what I think about when I re-read the posts form that afternoon/morning and night.

I followed Adam's blog for a long time, but couldn't figure out my password for google blogging when he switched over to that format for comments. So while BettyJoBialowski didn't post on that 900 comment thread, I was there!

Hey Adam, I'm looking for the video of Sarah set to Tracy Chapman's "Revolution" before McCain chose her. It was the first Sarah video I watched, and it will always be my favorite!

I followed Adam's blog for a long time, but couldn't figure out my Google username and password to post once he changed his policy on posting comments -- I'll always feel regret that I didn't figure it out so I could post on that thread. gipped that I didn't .

In any event, I was bouncing back and forth between three different websites that night. It was so cool to see the information about the chartered plane spread from website to website, blog to blog.

I raise my glass of cabernet and toast Sarah and Adam -- Salute!

It has been a remarkably emotional roller-coaster the last year. As an Alaskan I am distressed that circumstances have robbed us of Our Lady Sarah's wise and competent governance prematurely (but we would have lost her even earlier if the election had gone the 'right' {*bad pun alert!*} way) but as an American I am overjoyed to have her fighting for us all!

Happy Anniversary Everyone!

Can it really be a year since that unforgetable night! Adam I can't begin to tell you just how proud Dad, Kate & I are of you. But I can tell you, and everyone else here, that we were just as proud of you and all your ccomplishments on every other August 29th from 1986-2007 as we were on August 29, 2008.

Before I take my very long trek down memory lane, I would like to give a great big wonderful thank-you to our "moderator". During the first week or two, I moderated while Adam was answering phones. But soon after that, we had a faithful follower take on that much needed, over-whelming task. We will forever be in debt to the vital role and the tireless work you provided. You know who you are...so Thank you.

Now for memory lane....
I remember sitting up with everyone all night, commenting, moderating for Adam, and watching the stat counter. As he said, Adam was silent in the comment section that night, but Adam dear, you left out the fact that you COULDN'T blog because of regulations of your dorms. But I can tell all of you that he was definately watching ... and on the phone with me until about midnight EST. Being a good mother, I told him to go to bed because he had to work in the morning, but I would call him if anything important happened.

He was fast asleep in DC when the plane track was found, but I stayed with you all til about 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. Colorado time, called Adam to get him out of bed, told him about the plane, and then I took a nap. I woke up about 5:30checked the stat counter and noticed it had jumped about 30,000 in two hours! I turned on the TV and there it was!

The phone started ringing about 7:00 a.m. (FOX News was the first to call) and the day just went from there....

Thanks to everyone who stayed up all night, to everyone who was posting here way back in the beginning, for Adam for having the vision and wisdom to begin with, and yes, to Drew, for adding an extra measure of excitement to what is definately one of the most memorable nights of my life.

I came to knew Sarah Palin through this blog. I have followed the US election from Baku, mainly watching CNN. My particular interest was on who becomes the Democratic party nominee. To me the election was as good as over because of the situation of the nation under G. Bush Jr., so who ever was the democrat nominee would win the republican. I didn't know much about Obama, but the little I have come to know, he doesn't have sufficient experience to become the president. This was why I was for H. Cliton.

What transpired in the democratic party primaries, how the media and the D. machines ripped Clinton apart made me dislike Obama the more.

I should make it clear that as someone from African origin and who also has a family of mixed race, the Obama ascension has positively robbed on my image. But my convictions and faith makes it difficult for me to be in the Obama band wagon.

So on that faithful day of 29th August, as I tuned into CNN, I saw the caption that was announcing Sarah Palin as Mccain VP. I watched with interest because I never have heard of this lady. I cant remember who mentioned it, but Adam and his blog was credited as one of those who have pushed for Sarah Palin as the VP.

That was how I got to know Sarah. And as I have followed her from here to TeamSarah, to C4P and various others I have loved her more and I have come to embrace all the things she believes in.

Adam,

I can't remember when or where I first found out about you and your blog. It might have been through the Townhall web-site. I do know it was several months before Sarah became well known. I had never heard of her until I started reading your blog about drafting Sarah Palin. I liked what you said about her and so I started to investigate her background on my own. When I read about her taking on the corruption and "good-old-boys"(even Republicans) in Alaska, I thought to myself, "We need someone like her in Washington D.C.!" From then on I supported her to be McCain's running mate. I even e-mailed McCain several times asking him to pick her. But I never dreamed he would have the good sense to choose her. But I was on "Cloud 9" when he announced her! The rest is history. Thank you Adam for the big part you played in helping bring her name to the forefront. "Palin For President In 2012!"

Adam, you were the key to helping Sarah Palin become McCain's VP. May G-d BLESS you for supporting her, and thus enriching our nation!

Julie, you're a peach as always. I am SO glad you set me straight; I thought things started earlier. Wow, everyone was SO busy a year ago!

Palinistas: JUST IMAGINE how swamped we'll be in another year or so, as we gear up for 2012!!!!!!

GO PALIN!

And may G-d bless and PROTECT Sarah, Todd, Track, Bristol and Tripp, Willow, Piper, and Trig, as well as ALL other extended family members!

I remember the day before the announcement, I was telling my wife about Sarah Palin and how she would be great as President in a couple of years, but that she was in the backwater of Alaska. My wife got more and more excited the more she read about her. And then the announcement.

Unfortunately, I think that how she was mishandled by the McCain Campaign and the horrible attacks by Tina Fey, but most of all, her resignation as Governor of Alaska, have all combined to make her unelectable.

Mountain Mama said...

Charles, worry not: Sarah Palin is still VERY electable. After all, she is still THE most watched politician, and THE most coveted speaker in the USA.

Reassure your wife that Sarah couldn't legally come down to the "lower 48" to campaign UNLESS her trip had something to do with Alaska----and she was constantly being unfairly assailed with frivolous ethics charges (she was innocent of every charge made) that were costing her and Alaskans with MILLIONS of dollars to defend herself. She had no alternative but to leave office----but by doing so, she helped ensure that her lieutenant governor could continue on with her ideas and programs (which he's doing), and she also thereby helped him become the incumbent, therefore a person who is much more difficult to defeat in the next governor's race.

Hang in there, hold onto your hat, and just WATCH SARAH SOAR!

Hey! Lets keep this thing rolling. Hope the next book is successful. Thanks to liberal trolls, she needs the cash to pay for ridiculous law suits as they continue to attack her.

We all know why. She's the biggest threat to "progressives" and their attempts to sabotage America. Why? Because she makes sense to real Americans and she can easily and clearly explain the differences between conservative and a liberal (if that's what they're calling themselves today) policies and intentions.

Aging hippie pretentious leftists who can't attack on substance, so they make it up... can't hold a candle to her and it makes them mad.

Keep at it Sarah. The world is seeing just what lengths that mr obama and his henchmen and women will do, to deep six the American people and won't be fooled again.

Maybe even in California.....

I'm still wanting a good, honest conservative for president. There is no way Romney or any other Rino will get my vote. I'm tired of dishonest opportunits.

But I'm also not sure if Sarah Palin will be the right person either - I am still open to her, if that's the way things fall into place, but I'm also open to Bobby Jindal and some others.

On the other hand...maybe this site will be re-instated as, again, a Draft Sarah Palin for vice-president site... :)

I just re-read this thread, and cried with joy, remembering that historic evening when the McCain campaign sent Drew (WHO ARE YOU, btw?) to leak the news FIRST to THIS BLOG, that he'd selected Sarah as his VP. WHAT A NIGHT!

Today was also special, for I finally met and spoke with both Sarah and Todd Palin, at the rally she spoke at to promote Vaughn Ward's candidacy for Congress here in Idaho! Seriously, the Palins are SO nice; they were SO patient with our son who experiences autism----and who enthusiastically gave Sarah a (sideways) hug!
They are both very gentle and kind people.

Hang in there, everyone. GOD HAS A PLAN----and Sarah and Todd are truly following it, I believe with my whole heart. May God richly bless them and their family----and may God save and protect the USA!!!!!

SARAH PALIN CAN SAVE AMERICA WITH ONE SIMPLE ACT

Governor Palin is a courageous person, no doubt. In view of her massive following, if she would simply, briefly, tweet about the upcoming case before the US Supreme Court next week, it would change the course of American history.

November 23, 2010 marks a fork in the road for the future of America of more than historic proportions — perhaps on par with events leading to the Civil War. To date, virtually all federal and state courts where actions have been brought seeking decision on the meaning of the Constitution’s Article 2 “natural born citizen” clause as a prerequisite for Barack Obama to be a lawful President and Commander in Chief of the United States (Mr. Obama having been born to a father of British/Kenyan nationality and father not a citizen of the United States), have been shut down, never getting beyond the issue of standing. To date, courts have very strategically (narrowly if not artfully) characterized and applied law and legal procedure steadfastly to prevent the question from ever rising to the merits — this on a host of different types and classes of plaintiffs, causes and defendants — admittedly under the most intensely implicit (if not more) pressure to do the same.

The national media (some say our 4th branch of government) has aided and abetted the avoidance by mischaracterizing this as a “Hawaii birth” a/k/a “birther” issue which is nothing more than a “red herring” in that the issue for Article 2 “natural born citizen” is Mr. Obama’s father. Moreover, the legal community has aided and abetted the avoidance by mischaracterizing the 1898 Supreme Court Case, Wong Kim Arc, which dealt with the meaning of “citizenship”, not the meaning of “natural born citizen” under Article 2.

November 23, 2010 may very well be the last chance for the Judicial Branch realistically to take up the issue, this on a case of legal standing solidly presented by Attorney Apuzzo and Commander Kerchner. If the Court finds no standing here, by a narrow interpretation of the same or otherwise, coming after all the rest of the “no standing” cases, it is doubtfull this important Constitutional issue can and will be resolved in any court of law. The question will nevertheless continue to fester, at tremendous national cost, never to abate, potentially to reach crisis stage, and in any event to undermine the structure of our Constitutional Republic.

It is more than chilling and says volumes that NOT ONE member of Congress will publicly speak on this or, better yet, since the Congress of the United States has more than a vested interest, opine if not as a “friend of the court” at the Supreme Court, in the court of public opinion — BEFORE the Supreme Court convenes on November 23, 2010.

The world is (should be) watching!
